My understanding was that the World Championship was in New Zealand in 2011.

I don't know the full story and this is third hand info so take it for what it's worth but the story as I heard it goes...That the CPSA wanted to move the event around to different countries like the World FITASC does and that the NSCA was opposed to this.

At some point this event in NZ was started but the NSCA always maintained that the WESC would be held in San Antonio.  It doesn't seem like the CPSA is supporting that event in NZ and certainly the NSCA doesn't.  The only real fact I know is that the current World Champion will be defending his title in San Antonio in 2011.

I went to the NSCA homepage and it shows that the 2012 World's will be held in the USA.

May I ask where all your information came from ? That is a lot of interesting information considering the first post appears to be a typo.

My info came straight from NSCA director Robert Crow. One of our Irish fans on facebook saw this event advertised at Lakenheath during this year's World English and asked me for the dates, so I asked Robert directly. NSCA is now accepting bids for the 2012 World FITASC, which is also to be held in the USA.

It's going to be rather strange and confusing but I think that the one in San Antonio is where everyone (top guns) is going to be.

I'm pretty sure that the World Sporting in 2011 is definitely in New Zealand next February, as far as the UK CPSA are concerned.

See, this is how it's going to be all year. LOL  This situation is bad for the sport and the powers that be need to issue a statement of clarification.

Traditionally, the World English has been basically between the US and the UK with the shoot moving to each Country every other year.  One year in San Antonio, and the next in the UK.  The general gripe has been that the Brit's are tired of always going to SAT and not getting to see other parts of the Country because of it.  When it goes to England, the World travels to a different grounds each time.  Frankly, the US shooters would like to see it move around the US as well, as they too are tired of it always being in SAT.

There has been some talk about having the World Sporting move through other countries just like the World FITASC does.  The problem is that there are few countries other than the US and the UK that actually shoot sporting clays.  Most Countries consider sporting clays to be FITASC, and not the multi-stand courses like we and the Brit's do.

I am sure there will be pressure to keep the World Sporting in SAT because that is the NSCA  home grounds and they want to keep the bucks for themselves rather than pass it around to other grounds around the US.  Just like everything else nowadays, greed is always a factor in anything that involves serious money to be made.

At any rate, it will be interesting to watch this play out.

Bad for the sport alright wether true or not the confusion will hurt, I hope this doesn't turn into another sport of "Worlds" where the word should really be "Nationals".......................
Lets mix it up a bit eh.

Huh As far as the CPSA and the British shooters are concerned the World English Sporting C/ships are to be held in N.Z, in 2011!
Where the hell the NSCA thought they had rights to the title only God knows?
If you want a "Micky Mouse" World C/ship of your own with just a handfull of "Yanks" competing well thats fine! who's fooling who?
