I would side with the one the CPSA is backing.  It is English sporting after all.  I guess this has been brewing a while now and yes I do believe this will hurt the sport.  It can't be good to have two shoots claiming the same title.  The CPSA or BICTSF needs to make sure it's known what shoot they are backing.  I went through the WESC 2011 site and find no obvious mention of either.

Seems the powers that be can't make up their collective minds. I think it points toward the arrogance of both groups. "I wanna play what I wanna play" Lets just go back to low gun mount, can't mount until you see it. Realistic shots. up to a 3 second delay until the bird is pulled after it's called...My bad we do have that it's called F.I.T.A.S.C.

I would agree, imagine how much stronger the sport would be if we were all playing the same game, FITASC and Compaq would have to be the pinnacle of the variations of our sporting games........
It was good to see a full strength US team partipating in the FITAC Worlds, great to see the US at a World event outside of San Antonio.

Roll Eyes The NSCA has NO right to the English Sporting World C/ship title! period!
English Sporting is what it says on the bottle English Sporting! Gawd you don't even shoot it the U.K. style, squadding shooters, golf carts, referees that don't know the rules and/or score your own!etc etc.,
Its probably been shot over here for a century! (thats 100 years) Your grandaddies were wearing coonskin hats and buffalo skins when we first started shooting it! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Shootingguru sounds like a crusty Old Brit I used to know!

Among other things, he taught me that Stonehenge was the first sporting layout and George Druidweed was the first champion.

If that's you Cyril, Crowstalker says "give 'em hell and set 'em straight!" After 20+ years San Antonio still can't get it right.... they just need to collect a few more millions $$$.

I've scoured the NSCA website I don't see a reference to 2011 championship, maybe I'm overlooking it. To the point made by our "English friends" They should feel very fortunate the we let them in Texas. (all said in fun guys)

Mike,

I certainly don't have a dog in this hunt.... but I will take the opportunity to point out that while the Brit's may have been shooting sporting for 100 years or so, we did out shoot them in the late 1700's! lol.

Good point sir. I'd put my cash on Dan Carlise but he is semi retired, and Smoker is gone. I'm not a Huge fan of having it in S/A again myself. Considering the time of year you would be hard pressed to find a better place than Texas (weather mostly). But....it could be August and no place would be better than my beloved Texas. Let have a pint or seven and talk about this.

Peace

Wink Mr Breeze(?) Dan Carlisle is past his sell by date as far as International competition is concerned! Tongue "Smoker" Smith was a West Country Englishman
who spent his latter years in Florida fishing and trying to drink Florida dry" (no disrepect to A.J.)  so you aint got much left in your bag as to speak! Roll Eyes
As to the coloured water you guys call beer Cry NO thanks! but if you had a couple of bottles of GOOD Calfonian red wine then I am all for a drink and a discussion on shooting! Cool

This is from memory only so may not be fully correct. A couple of years ago there was an initiative from the CPSA to give a greater exposure to their versions of the World Skeet and DTL. Along with the World Sporting it was decided that only one of these events would be held annually, ie each on a three year rotation. It had the support of some federations eg Australia, but not the NSCA. That is why at the event last year in SA there was no official team form England.
I believed an agreement had been reached with the NSCA so the World Sporting was held again recently in England and planned for next year in NZ. From this post the NSCA does not now seem to support this yet the team from England to complete in NZ has been chosen.
http://www.cpsa.co.uk/england-world-sporting-2011.

People I have spoken with say it is a first class site in New Zealand. I am sure Graham will put on excellent targets. NZ is also great country to visit so I hope the politics do not detract and the event gets plenty of support.

Regards

Leigh

8)Hi Breeze, Be glad to share a bottle of Texas Hill country Shiraz or Merlot or Cabernet Sauvinon(?) anytime. (never was much good at French!)
Maybe I'll get back to Texas next year? (not S./A.) I would like to see Fossil Point and some of Mr Schultz's best targets, and some of the other Texas grounds that ain't flat and NO rattlers!
